By 2010, the Forrester report predicted, 62 percent of U.S. households
will have broadband access to the Internet, 53 percent will own a laptop and 37
percent will use digital video recorders (DVRs).
After conducting an extensive survey involving 68,000 households, Forrester
Research concluded that attitudes toward technology in general are critical in
determining the level of digital-product acceptance among consumers.
The study, which covered 347 consumer brands across 12 industries, showed that
the adoption of electronics and Internet access will continue to rise through
the end of the decade.

Gains Across the Board
Particularly noteworthy, said Forrester analyst Ted Schadler, is that big gains
were reported last year across the board among vendors selling consumer

HD TVs. "It's unusual to see such a broad jump across all devices," he said.
