Life: News for young adults
Marietta Times, OH
For young people, downloading music from the Internet is a standard way of
obtaining new songs and movies, but it's become a little more complicated as
companies have begun cracking down on illegal downloads.
Apple's iTunes and Movielink are among the many Web sites charging a small fee
for their services either for each use or as a monthly subscription. More people
are utilizing the new programs as free illegal downloads become harder to find.
Marietta College now is providing students and faculty with a low-payment option
to download popular musical and cinematic titles. The program began in October
after the college signed a contract with Colorado-based Cdigix to offer
campuswide downloads at affordable prices.
