Every call
you make, your phone's watching Economic Times - India
After voice recognition, watch out for space recognition capabilities of
your phone! Already introduced by various companies in Japan and Korea, this new
function is all set to make an appearance in the other parts of the world now
These “motion-sensing phones” can translate your waving of the phone in the air
into various actions. Samsung for one has a “3D movement recognition” mobile
phone (model: SCH-S310).
A built-in ‘accelerometer’ can accurately calculate and ascertain 3D movement
and carry out commands according to those calculations. Write the number ‘three’
in the air, and your phone will read the movement and dial ‘3’.
Shake your phone twice, and you can conclude a call or delete messages. Draw an
‘O’ or an ‘X’ in the air with the phone, and it will respond with a voice
message that says ‘yes’ or ‘no’. Move the phone sharply to the right and the
selection on the MP3 play function will more to the next tune on the list; move
it to the left, and the selection will back up one number.
Moreover, Samsung has already developed movement-controlled functions that will
be adopted on later models. These include switching from landscape to portrait
when shooting video or snapping a still picture, or preventing the picture from
becoming blurred from hand movement.
