envision continued growth in digital revolution Korea Herald (subscription) - Seoul,South

The digital revolution of the 21st century, marked by the popularization
of the Internet and the emergence of digital multimedia, is often cited as a
grave threat to analogue medium such as traditional subscription newspapers.
However, ongoing digitalization will not cause the demise of print newspapers
but lead to coexistence of old and new media, said newspaper editors from around
the world and leaders of global digital technology gathered in Seoul for the
58th World Newspaper Congress and the 12th World Editors Forum.
"As the technology advances, the wall between broadcasting, newspaper, and
telecommunication collapses. However, a paper's position in media will remain
the same despite the emergence of new information carriers evolving around
mobile technology," Hwang Chang-gyu, president and CEO of Samsung Electronics'
semiconductor business, said yesterday at the Digital Roundtable, which kicked
off the Congress and Forum.
